AP US History Project

stuff year project school work lazy
This is Why You Shouldn't Procrastinate
At my school if you take AP US History (or APUSH), you're required to do a project at the end of the year. We call that project the Culminating Project. I've decided on a research paper about US policy involving Vietnam. Honestly, I wish I hadn't chosen to do a paper because I absolutely hate it. It's worth the most points though, 775, so I can miss more and still get a good grade. However, I've already lost a ton of points because I forgot to do any research for 3 months, did it all the weekend after the research was due, then forgot the ideas sheet and note cards, and page numbers on my bibliography. Then I did the outline, and did it in the completely wrong format, so I lost more points there. Now I have a rough draft, due tomorrow at 7:30, and I'm not sure of the formatting for it. I don't know if the sections on the outline are supposed to be there or not. (ex: Section 1: The US ignores everything. Subsection 1a: The French and Ho Chi Minh). I'm not sure where the word count is supposed to go either, or if there's supposed to be a cover page on it.This alone is worth 50 points, and then the peer review is worth 30, so it's a total of 80 points. I'm really hoping I do this correctly, and don't lose more points, but I'm worried. Plus, I absolutely hate this topic.

At least my teacher only requires me to go to 3 student presentations (research paper, synthesised book review, documentary, or team teaching, which is people standing there for 60 minutes teaching about their topic). Anything after those 3 is bonus, and the book review that's required every semester has a film with it, so if I watch it that's bonus.
I need all the bonus points I can get. Imagine me writing the final copy May 21st, the night before it's due, like I'm doing right now with the rough draft.

That's what I did with my english author research paper, and forgot to check it so there's spelling errors, and I forgot to cite my books, so I had to write in the citations. Oh well, I've only gotten one B on a paper, and that's because I didn't have to analyze anything. I'll take anything above a D really.

I keep telling myself to stop procrastinating, but I can't seem to do it. I always think "I'll do it in a hour" then "Oh, there's still time left, I'll do it the next hour", and pretty soon it's the end of the day and I haven't done a dang thing.
