I am on for about 12 hours a day. They have no idea. I live with my girlfriend and she has no idea. Last week, a friend of mine brought up Neopets saying he used to play alot when he was a kid, and he was rich (almost 100k). I just wanted to lay him out for being a n00b. I feel like a super hero hiding my identity. Who am I?

I used to when I was a kid and one of my friends made fun of me for it. Then I grew up and realized he was a dick.

Just come out. You'll be "that guy who still plays neopets", so what? It's no different than "the guy who plays WoW" or "that girl who still collects dolls".

GF: "Aarpm what are you hiding from me?"
Aarpm: "It's pornography, I swear!"

My GF doesn't speak English and has no idea what I'm doing on the computer. She thinks I'm surfing and studying. We don't talk about much.

I can't get stoned, I get regular drug testing.

**Edit** Actually I bought one of my friends a brush for his birthday present... Classy ;)

I told my close friend, she said "Oh."
I said "Oh like... 'Oooohhhhhh wow' or "Oh, okay'".
She said it was the latter.

But yeah, just come out.

Who needs enemies when you've got friends like me eh??
If they're stupid enough to pay that amount, they deserve it lol.

It is a very thriving relationship... maybe I could get her to play Neopets, then sell her my NP at ¥10000 per million.

My college friends know I used to play Neopets and they don't really care. An opinion is an opinion and the smart people are the ones who think it is stupid to make fun of somebody that shares a different opinion.

These kinds of things are like a cold war. You have no idea who is on whose side so when you reveal which side you are on for whatever reason, you can be outnumbered if people from the other side decide to reveal themselves to oppose you. What some people don't realize is that remaining neutral is the best option until you are comfortable with showing your true colors. Heck, I revealed myself as a brony when a friend (brony hater) was trying to explain the pony craze to some other friends that didn't know anything about it. The poor guy then started complaining even more and asked everybody that was laughing if they were bronies. In the end, he let it go but I can tell he tries to resist the urge to say something every time he sees my desktop image.

Remember that somebody must be (really) insecure if they are obsessed over the fact that you like something that they think is stupid. I doubt none of your friends will bring up Neopets again so they should have no reason to tease you.

I came out on facebook when I decided to start playing again. Everyone was all "oh haha I haven't even thought about that game in forever," and then forgot about it. I've always been a gamer and have an obsessive personality. This is just one of my things.

For you, the GF probably won't mind the fact that you PLAY, but when she finds out that you play a game for 12 hours a day, she might start making "demands" or "ultimatums."

Way I see it, Neopets is the best MMO out there at present. This is not a compliment to neopets, it's just a comparative explanation that every other MMO has become terrible since world of warcraft hit the scene. Barring maybe EVE.

So I have no shame in playing. I would be more ashamed if I spent regular money on it, though. (HAHA, neocash.)

I've told quite a few people that I play. At first they laughed, and then I was like, "Here, let me show you something. You see that single cup coffee maker? Every Black Ops Map Pack? All the DLC for Borderlands? I got all that by playing Neo."
Then they beg me to teach them how and I say, "lolno."

Lmfao I thought the same xD

Just look into what your friends play. You'll find one that plays Hello Kitty: Island Adventure or something. Then whenever neopets is mentioned, just redirect the conversation to him.
