I would have to disagree with iargue here for a few reasons. The simplest one being, human muscles/teeth are not strong enough to tear through flesh and meat unless cooked, it would leave the zombies no choice but fruit

Ok let's talk logic here, zombies eat what? Meat. Proteins is not a good source of energy, of amino acids and building muscles maybe, but what good those muscles are for if you don't have the fuel to use them. The energy they provide will not be sufficient to live on and there will be no 'magical' source that will provide it to those zombies, they'll die off fast or least won't be able to move much. Bear in mind that we are talking about a ratio of 50 (dead):1 (alive) here, little resources.

I would venture to say that the only reason a person couldn't tear a chunk of someone's hide off with their teeth and chew it up is because they haven't tried.

Whoops I quoted the wrong post, sorry.

We have herbivorous teeth, our canines are barely any sharp and our jaw muscles aren't THAT strong. True some have strong jaw muscles but it's not common.

Yeah, I was going to ask that earlier :o How in the world can a human-like thing spread a disease through biting if it can't even pierce the skin? x3
Or maybe zombies get super powerful jaws/whatever which doesn't make much sense, they don't seem like the kind of thing which would be very powerful >.>, or they know which body parts have the thinnest amount of skin~

I believe it mainly just chewing, the press tends to exaggerate most times. However the lips is tender flesh and easy to tear off, your earlobe too. Your nose and ears are only just cartilages, they are certainly fuckin hard to tear off however easier than other organs. Dicks and balls excluded that will probably be all the possibilities in a human body.

Search the hobo's name in google images, 80% of the face was torn off. The nose was torn off, so was both eyelids and one of his eye balls, and the rest were just skinless bloody mass

Eyelids are tender skin yes, I did say the nose was possible to tear off. Boobs have tender skin too. But sure tearing skin is possible but tearing flesh?! So we came to a conclusion they can tear skin but not flesh, now the question is how will they feed if not meat? If not feeding how will they survive? I'm assuming we are talking about infected zombies here and not back from the dead ones, because if we are talking about the latter then we are talking about supernaturals which is a total different subject.

I still fail to understand what makes you think humans can't eat raw flesh. People do it all the time.

Then you haven't looked. 'Tis not hard to find information on

    http://www.mahalo.co...-raw-meat-diet/

Apparently Uma Thurman, Demi Moore and Natalie Portman all advocate eating raw meat.

ETA also, doesn't meat get tougher the more you cook it? So eatig a human raw would likely be easier than cooking the flesh first.

EATING raw meat is different than TEARING raw meat. Many things can help soften up the meat, not to mention a knife could be included.
Don't forget that you have to tenderize the meat to make edible, it breaks the collagen; which is the main component of the connective tissues.

Now human flesh is not like beef it's harder to tear through due to the fact that it is way more elastic.

So you are saying that the 300 pound tiger would die off because it just ate meat?

Do you not understand that everything you eat actually is used to fuel your body? Humans are full of exactly what humans need to eat. Obviously they would eventually die off, but only when their food source dies off.. Until then, they would be nice and health (As healthy as you can be as a zombie.).

You're not talking science. You are talking nonsense.

please refer to my last sentence, we are talking about a big ratio here. You said so yourself this will be able to spread 50% of the population in a day, assuming that another 35%(more or less) would be infected the day after we'll have TOO MUCH zombies compared to humans, resources would barely be sufficient causing them to die off fast.

You were just presented evidence that a human CAN tear raw flesh. Someone ate 80% of another person's face, which CLEARLY indicates that it is simple enough to consume a human.

Cannibalism (The practice of eating human flesh) takes part a lot of the time without cooking the meat first.

A human can survive about a month without food. Please revise your theory.

He tore the skin but not the flesh, the flesh is much harder to tear through. Not to mention that there are many everyday acids which can break the bonds between the connective tissues, vinegar and lemon juice included, saliva however is not.

I'm pretty sure the whole Zombie fad has something to play with this. If there wasn't such a fascination these days it would just be put off as a crazy dude on bath salts.
