And hey, whaddya know, transmission by biting wasn't in the original Romero version, either!

It wasn't shown very well in the original Night of the Living Dead I think but in the remake of it it's clearer when the black guy turns (after dying following being shot) despite him being locked away by himself without being bitten or scratched etc.

It started as ass, then meant donkey, and then meant both.

Just like zombie now refers to a huge variety of different concepts, and isn't a rigorously defined technical term?

Is this what they call a circle-jerk? I'm really asking.

    Boobs, right?

    Wouldn't know, haven't seen 'em.

    Fastest backpedal I've ever seen.

What about the "original" Romero zombies?

Does it explicitly call them zombies?

Or driving somewhere. It sucks when you have stuff to do and can't argue on the internet all day :(

    Nope.
Which is confusing, since you explicitly did call them zombies earlier.

And by the way, the walkers in The Walking Dead are explicitly referred to as zombies.
So I guess you'll give up and go away now?

Really? Because I hear them referred to as walkers. Which would be "The walking dead"

Yes. But surprisingly, that word isn't the only one they use.

And don't think no one has noticed your second hasty backpedal on a zombie example.

They can be called zombies when people think its the biting that causes the switch. Whenever they find out that everyone will become a walker, they know its not longer a zombie attack, but a walker attack.

It's easy to mislabel things when they look identical to another attack.

Walker is a nickname. Just like Roamers, Lurkers, Biters etc.
They're zombies in the series canon.

    Not always.

The clear distinction between being the walking dead, and being a zombie, is that you spread by biting.

I guess George Romero was wrong then, you clearly know better than him. You should probably let him know before he makes any more films with blatant mistakes like that in.

Because they're called zombies in several of Romero's other films? He didn't just make one zombie film.

Well, you thought it was zombies too. Until it magically didn't fit your narrow definition anymore, and then you discarded it without so much as a teensy acknowedgement.
Yours is the very definition of a circular argument.

But not in the film you are using to discredit my theory? What about in the other films? Do they spread it by biting?

Given that I have never watched it, it would be hard for me to tell you if it did or did not. I accepted what others said, until I discovered differently.

The same thing with the walking dead. I did not watch the finale. I did not know that they changed the premise of the movie. They are no longer zombies at that point, they are walkers. I mislabels them based upon What I had known. now that I know better, I have labeled them properly.

Based on your own definition, as evidence for your definition.
