The thread is about what he would do in the place of the administration(aka suggestions).
Only one point had anything to do with him being staff...

I was just pointing out that while though he wasn't in an administrative position he was still on staff and had more influence to bringing about many of the changes that he outlined. None of which I saw discussed whatsoever. No I can't say whether or not is was brought up in staff chats or forums, however it would seem to me that he passionately outlined changes he would make but did nothing to acquire them besides becoming a moderator.

I don't think you understand how these things work.I was just pointing out that while though he wasn't in an administrative position he was still on staff and had more influence to bringing about many of the changes that he outlined.

Meh. It just reminds me of presidential elections where we're promised change and receive nothing but grief. ![]()

Technically it's more like a politician saying what he would change if he were President and then you complaining that he didn't implement any of them after he was only made a Governor.Meh. It just reminds me of presidential elections where we're promised change and receive nothing but grief.

*sigh* Why would you dig this up seemingly to stir things. Sweeney wasn't/isn't in charge of the site, he was just in charge of moderating.
Don't we have anything better to talk about? Come ON people.

In my honest opinion I don't think it should be up to any one person to make change on this site. The administrators are really open, they're on all the time and if you feel like something could be done better you should just relay that to the admins yourself rather than waiting for someone to do it.

1) Referrals contest
---> Talked about it, was never implemented.
2) Change Advanced+ to applications
---> Administration said no.
3) Officially set the standards for Retired
---> Ultimately, no one cared.
4) Add an old member perk
---> *shrug* No one wanted to code it, and have to redo it for board upgrades.
5) Moderators
---> Well, this happened.
6) Administration
---> The community is not a priority for the administration.
7) More announcements
---> The community is not a priority for the administration.
8) Knock out a 100 post day before the end of Summer. Or one weekend.
---> Agreed on, but never implemented by administration.
9) Stop free-for-all name changes. Jesus fuck, but that's annoying.
---> No one else cared.
10) Remove rep.
---> People seem to like it. Weirdos.

We have two Canadian admins.
I mean specifically moderators. It's better suited for Aussies and... whoever applied for the next batch.

3) Officially set the standards for Retired. It used to be that only very old, interesting members were nominated into Retired. That's no longer the case, since the Private merger - so make that clear and official. Retired aint that great no more.
5) Moderators. Get rid of Elindoril and Boggart. Promote me, or Patrick, or Cody, or... actually, that's all I can think of. Then tell them what they need to do, and how to do it. Go over the rules with them, fix the rules where required. Oh, and make sure they all have identical powers. Oh (2), and stop contradicting each other in public. Concerns are raised in the Staff area - that's what it's for.
9) Stop free-for-all name changes. Jesus fuck, but that's annoying.
