I am having a super trying day of having to tolerate plenty of people I have minimal respect for. <_< All in all, I hate people.

I'm not jew but if I see someone worshiping a symbol representing the unjustified hatred and systematic elimination of my people I will, obviously, feel offended.
Afterwards I'll probably forget about it but, yes, I think it's justified for them to get offended.

Imagine someone praising a man who killed your family...

The holocaust was not just a crime against Jewish people.

I don't think it's unreasonable of anyone to still get offended by Hitler, Swastikas or any kind of Nazi-propaganda, I don't think it will ever be okay to plant a Swastika flag on your front lawn.

What does offend me is when some Jewish people (some, not all of them) make it all about them and refuse to acknowledged they were not the only victims.

and I am, on average, a believer of 'we are only offended by that which we allow to offend us'.

I just wanted to comment on this specific part of your post.

I think people are not offended at Hitler itself anymore, or Swastikas. Most people get offended at the ignorance of others regarding said things.

Is that not what some people do with all killers? They make excuses for them, feel compassion for them...

Just look at the recent USBC shooting.

I know it's on a much smaller scale, but it's the same overall.

I'll reiterate my point. If someone is displaying a swastika in an obvious racial manner (Neo-nazi rallies, adorned with 88/HH symbols), I think it's very reasonable to understand the majority of people will be offended.

What I don't get, the original OPs scenario, is that some people get offended by the swastika in a totally legitimate and non-racial scenario.

It doesn't just represent that though.

True, but as we are talking about jews and nazis I supposed we are just talking about the black-white-red swastika and other nazi paraphernalia.

I know that (C&P from Wikipedia)

Spoiler
I've seen many in the north of Spain, as well as Triskelions (Hitler and nazis were a bunch of superstitious and that's why they adopted those symbols) and it's such a shame that only a few people know that.

I agree, but not so much a shame though. We can sympathise with a traumatised generation of people. Once that generation dies out we'll be left with more of a denotation of the swastika, rather than it's heavy, enveloping connotations.

I believe the point of the discussion was if it was "acceptable" for Jewish people to be offended at the latter when they know it's not being used in relation to Nazis. (Being offended at the symbol being used in the way to represent Nazis is a little expected for them to be offended, imo. )
