I have no idea if there was anything taken from my bank account, but I had enough np on hand to pay for that auction, it wasn't a big amount.

I thought about this too but the last time I played Ghoul Catchers was almost two months ago..

And wouldn't that also affect everyone else on neopets?

Then having Pin enabled is pretty irrelevant, right? You don't need Pin to the auction house

Well, it makes sense that people in a cheat community with access to programs are more affected because most don't have Pin exactly because of the programs used (or at least is what makes more sense to me), and also, cheaters are a bit more reckless and some don't have Pin enabled because "why the hell care about it?" lol

Yes true, but most people have also np on hand and that's the only requirement to bid on an auction. It's not that you need 1mil+ to be able to bid on an auction, most auctions are cheap. I had around 150k on hand and only around 10k was taken. The trudy daily gives out a lot of np every day so most legit people have enough np on hand and it should happen to them too?

 

But if it's a person this pin thing definitely makes sense, if it's a stupid glitch that TNT caused I don't get it..

Or it's possible that the glitch somehow always wants to bid a lot on auctions and then tries to withdraw (and fails because of the pin so it does nothing) and I was 'lucky' the amount it bid was very low & on hand so it did not need to withdraw? lol idk

Weird. I've been eyeing this thread. There's no casualties yet on my accounts. I have PIN and use loads of programs all day. I'll immediately report if anything get's taken.

 

What are the ages of your accounts? What kind of pets (as in, high-end, fully dressed, whatever)? Active on boards or in guilds?There's so little correlation yet, so we'll just have to eliminate every single one of them.

 

My account is 10 years. 1 Draik, haven't been active on the boards in a few years. 

 

So, to summarize-

I didn't have a PIN and the NP came out of my bank, looks like the people who got np taken out of their bank didn't have a pin either.

I only use abrosia, no userscripts, some people that this has happened to don't use any programs 

No one's inventory seems to have been messed with, only a portion of NP is bid on some junk item.

Amounts apparently range from 10k to 5M?

9+ years old, I do have a UC grey, nothing else high end in the way of pets or clothing. I do post rarely in AC, mostly just to say good luck or chat on the NQing boards. I am in a guild, which I sometimes post in, but it's very small (only 35 people) and private. I had no pin set on my bank, SDB, or shop. I did have pins for my pets (converting/abandoning/transferring). I have some duped stuff in my SDB worth over 100mill. The money was taken from my bank. I never keep more than 100k on hand. I had 77k in my hand prior to logging out. This happened while I was offline. I had 8.3m in the bank. Only 5m was taken.

Yes, I do but I haven't recently. It's been a couple weeks since I played it. I think I'm going to log out of it and delete it from my phone for now.

Everyone else who reported this, please submit a ticket as a bug report so we can get to the bottom of it faster.

Also, I had a thought. Everyone who lost or almost lost NPs - did Trudy reset for you in the last couple days and is it disappearing for you until after 5pm NST? Just wondering. I doubt it's related but we should explore all possibilities.

Checked the status of my ticket I submitted yesterday morning. It's already a work in progress (this is good, sometimes they stay open for a long time). I'll keep you guys updated on the status.

Ugh. I dunno then. The ghoul catchers was a good idea. I'm just not sure. It's so damn weird. No one else is talking about this happening to them. Just Codexians :l

I dont know how ghoul catchers work but if it holds your info and knowing what has happened in the past this info could have been gotten and abused.  Lists of ppls accounts and passwords have turned up on the net before and been used i.e. last time was when the top BDers where all got into.

 

But then it could be just my mulder and skully kicking in and could be nothing to do with that.

 

I think the weirdest thing bout it all is the amount of NPs being taken and the fact no big items have been taken.  It just sounds to me like 1 person trying to keep a low profile to see how long they can go on like this for.  As for it just being neopians it could be that the ppl on the boards have not noticed yet as the amounts are so small but who knows.

Yeah. The amounts are so inconsistent it doesn't seem like it could be a glitch. Different amounts seems pretty human. But then also, why not change the password/email? I mean, I'm glad that wasn't the case. :\ But still. It seems like that would be the best way to do it.

You think so? That could be a valid idea if 5m hadn't vanished from my account... :l I could see neopians being okay with losing 10k here or there. But 1m? 5m? Fuck that.

Actually this happen to me today. Thought it was just some messed up glitched coz I did the yesterday's turdy in a different time I usually did it. But so far, checking through my bank account, nothing has been taken.

 

Reading through, it's quite hard to believe it's due to some sort of in-game glitch where it can withdraw and bid stuff to transfer the NP.
