I road tripped to a village in the Rocky Mountains called New Denver with a few friends. One friend was originally from there so his family had a house we stayed at. We went tubing, cliff diving, and did other random stuff in the lake nearby. On the last day we were hanging out on a gravel beach late at night looking up at the stars and listening the waves. The whole area was really quiet and peaceful. We had actually gone a few years prior as well, and the previous time we went we bought like an ounce of the strongest weed I've ever had in my life.

Aren't these reasons why it's an unpopular opinion to hold? A little more emotional fortitude and he could've gotten the gauntlet and the power to bring back all those people.

@ Sweeney
Legality is absolutely relevant, you paralleled infidelity to arming a killer. Those aren't even on the same strata. My twist on the analogy is flawed in that regards, I agree.
I'm trying to show that intrinsically there is no culpability of the person not in the relationship. This needs to be looked at from that perspective in order to show that. The relationship is the foundation on which this problem is built, if there was no relationship to begin with there would be no perceived moral wrong.
@ Amethyst
If the problem had no root to begin with there's nothing to exacerbate. It does take two to cheat but if my partner is actively looking to cheat do I really care whom she cheats on me with or even if she's successful with it? Looking to cheat is as bad as cheating.

I always find it funny how atheists attack those who cling to [a] religion.
It's weird right? Usually the other way around.
Why on earth are you promoting this website? Any publicity is still publicity and all you're doing is giving these people more site views.
I'm obviously in favor of them. Also, I'm gonna go ahead and call this 'raising awareness'. edit: kony2012 claimed the same thing, why can't I?
That's what I mean, people blame religion because of the actions of a individual or a group of humans that are not perfect, therefore interpreting things and then promoting them as if they are "from the mouth of God". But question is, would God actually do or say such a thing because humans have said that God would?
I think that if you are against the ideas being promoted within those websites, it would make more sense to attack and criticize the people who made them
especially if you are an atheist, if you do not believe that such beings as God exist, why attack them? Criticize the people instead.
That criticism doesn't work very well when the people use God as their defense, attacking deities shows fallacies in arguments when people say "will of god" and so on and so forth.

but that's wrong. of the religious people I know (and this is in the deep south), few of them ever discuss their faith publicly unless someone else brings it up. they don't care if you choose to believe something different, and about half of them don't really believe completely in their own religion but stay with it because they enjoy the community aspect. maybe it's just because you are going out of your way to antagonize them for believing in god that they become so aggressive?
Then those people really shouldn't be considered religious, keywords are "don't really believe".

Why does everything suck? GOD DID IT
Why did the dinosaurs die? GOD DID IT
Bad things happen? Blame people of another religion
Worse things happen? Scholars must make god unhappy
Shits still happening? Better force religion down everyone's throats

Irrelevant information. I was addressing the person who said because violence exists in the Old Testament, that violence can be blamed on the Christians. I corrected that by saying it would be the Jews responsible for that violence. Doesn't matter if there were Jews or Romans or Pandas in the New Testament, because we weren't talking about that. We were discussing the violence depicted in the Old Testament.
If you had read my other responses in this thread, you'd have noticed that despite the usage of colorful pictures, I am not trolling, and that I already knew Jesus was Jewish. I'm not here for a lesson, that's what I had catechism for. I'm here to spread the good news!
Though, I thought the bacon bit would have made it obvious I was being a sarcastic asshole.
I was referring to the entire Bible as the holy text for Christians. Old or New Testament, still a part of the Bible, which if I presume correctly Christians still read/learn, and with much of the Christian holy text preaching violence, it can be said that Christians, from learning/reading these texts learn to be violent. Unless the Christians are never at fault and its always someone else's fault.

10 years, two wars, 919,697 deaths and $1,188,263,000,000 later, we managed to kill one person. Was it worth it?
Yeah, there's already a topic about Bin Laden's death...but I thought I'd bring a little different side to it.
At this point the US has killed more civilians than Al-Qaeda, who's the terrorist now? The Americans have made bin Laden a martyr, another 'Bin Laden' is gonna take his place, and I would expect Al-Qaeda to get revenge for killing Osama. So...imo wasn't worth it, shoulda spent that 1tril on America's domestic problems

2. Kill all violent criminals, any with weapon offenses are included too.
3. Stop giving so many fucking benefits to religious centers (churches not having to pay taxes pisses me off)
4. Make ignorance a crime (but no stupidity, we all need humor)
5. Television programming will consist of Klansmen fighting the WBC.
6. Yoga pants for all chicks
7. Magnets would make sense
8. World ruled by a leftist regime
9. Non-violent criminals will be shipped to labor camps
10. Make it illegal for people to go door to door trying to spread their religion
