I'm not sure what this will develop into but I feel as if i should start by letting you venture into my past to hopefully understand me better.
1. I am intellectually opposed to the idea of one God and am completely anti-dogmatic – But strangely enough, I sometimes find myself praying to a middle-aged white man with a beard and flowing robes. I blame this on my mom, who sent me to summer Bible Camp at a very susceptible age.
2. I truly believe the cliché that everything happens for a reason – Seriously, I can analyze anything that has happened in my life – good and bad – and see immediately why it was supposed to be that way.
3. On an average night, I get 3.5-4.5 hours of sleep. I can survive and function well on those hours.
4. I appear to be withdrawn when first meeting someone but this disappears as I get to know them better. I've been told I sometimes appear to be 'elitist' but they realized this was untrue later.
5. When I was in 4th grade, I attended three different schools.
6. I’ve hurt three people in my life that I loved – Due to fear, stupidity, immaturity, selfishness, you name it. I’m sorry.
7. I’m double-jointed. When I stretch, my fingers can reach back and touch my wrist.
8. I write poetry, but I don’t write nearly enough. Sometimes I get scared that I will stop altogether – That after each poem, that will be it – I fear I will run out of things to say.
9. I rejected an opportunity to go to Disney World for free when I was in Florida.
10. When I was 2 years old, I stopped breathing for a few minutes. If I hadn't been rushed to the hospital, I would have been dead.
11. I lived in Australia once – For a year during college. I’ve been wanting to go back ever since.
12. I don't know the names of most celebrities. Don't ask me "who is in that movie?" I don't know. That also goes for people who sing and most other public figures, BUT I can almost always name the author of any book I've ever read.
13. I like being surrounded by people of multiple intelligences. I don’t ever want to be the smartest person in the room. I already know what I know. I want to know what YOU know and understand things from your perspective.
14. One of my life goals is to join the Peace Corps.
15. I have a third nipple.
16. I love touching lives, and by writing, taking pictures or simply being around, I would like to think that I have been able to solicit a smile or two. Come to think of it, that is probably my greatest passion.
17. I have this tendency to not really make my bed.
18. If there's just one line in a song that captures my mood, it'll be played on replay over and over again until I get bored of it.
19. Though I grew up in a city, my roots lie within the country as my grandparents and parents were raised on a farm.
20. When I was young, I absolutely despised music. I refused to listen to any type of music. This changed when I was 14.
21. I think 25 things is a lot of things to divulge.
22. Everyone I've dated has had blue/green eyes.
23. For me, the 9/11 event was like a near-death experience. It made me loosen up, live for the moment, take more chances, because I could die any time. I don't understand why it had the opposite effect on everyone else.
24. I really dislike people who act like they know everything – I like the fact that I learn something everyday and I try to appreciate the humility that follows – I’ll quote William Durante – “Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.” If we stop being ignorant, how will true education continue?
25. I could extend this list indefinitely.
