As a boss, I'd be pissed off if you're spending time on the internet and not working regardless if you get your work done or not. If you're finished your already assigned work ahead of schedule be pro-active and let me know and I would give you more because I'm not paying you to sit there and browse the internet.
When I was a production manager I gave several of my staff warnings for using their phones / browsing the internet during their work hours when there was more work they could have done. Even though they got their own initially assigned work completed, it's not like the was nothing else for them to do they just didn't want to do it.

Why not just edit the original thread or add it as a new post at the bottom...
#1734163 Happy belated B'day Gameboy

I came across this one on my mobile phone last night but couldn't copy/paste anything over to Codexx so decided I'd wait until I got home and could use my laptop.
A number of members here are probably too young to remember what it was like to hold the original, but I'm sure at some stage they've held a predecessor (Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS etc)
On 21st April, 1989 Nintendo officially released a small grey brick looking device that started a revolution in terms of hand held gaming. They named the device the 'Gameboy' and it was a hit. Some games that were initially released on the Gameboy and caused the game names to become household names, passed down through generations in newer more updated forms including:
- Tetris (not much more can be done to 'improve' this simple but addictive game, but there's a few that have 'powerups' and the like.
- Pokemon Red and Blue (the initial Pokemon games that are still going strong today. Red and Blue were even remastered for later versions of the Game boy series, called Fire Red and Leaf Green.
- Mario - Originally Super Mario Land, everyone knows Mario
- Zelda
So... happy birthday to 25 years of handheld gaming revolution. There have been other hand held gaming devices, but it seems that Nintendo has really weathered the storm and owned the hand held gaming market over other devices such as Atari, Playstation (which PSP looks like a slimmer version of my hand held Lynx Atari) and any others that have tried. It's most major threat comes from the more portable Mobile phone market now that smart phones are a big thing.

@Elindoril:
Go to Auction House
Select the battle tab
Select your Price Range (enter something in the Gold Coin part unless you want to use Gems)
Select your Category (Arcane)
Then in the top left change the tab from Expiration to Price to sort from lowest to highest. The lower end battle runes are cheaper here then they are in the main marketplace (some which are 5000 treasure in the market place you can pick up for less than 2500 in the Auction House)
You don't need to bid on Auctions either. You just buy it and you'll receive it as an attachment in your mail.

#1730963 Private Membership is here!

Are all retired members automatically given access to the Private sub-forum?
Given that many retired members are inactive they shouldn't really have the privilege of lurking those forums without conintued contribution even though the section is technically 'below' the retired rank, the retired people don't really have any perks over Advanced other than their own subforum. The impression I'm given here is that the private rank will actually have a few extra perks.
Also, is the promotion only available via meeting those strict criteria, or is there provision for exceptions to be made for members who far exceed the general contributions of members but aren't overly forum active (such as people who may start contributing regularly to programs etc despite not being on the programming team.)
#1729048 What would you name your child?

My son is due Monday / Tuesday, we've settled on Pace Alexander as his given names.
You don't realize how many people you don't like, until you try to pick a name for your child, and then realize fuck, this person will think we named him after them for some stupid reason.
Also, some names make it hard for a second given name that will flow with it or you find one that is OK but then realize his initials make it look bad so you don't settle on it. My last name starts with S, and we were going to give him my 2nd given name but I realized his initials would be PMS and decided hell no.

I know everyone likes Pokémon. I've started watching it again as I have nothing better to do and growing up I didn't get a chance to see every episode because I left for school before it was on in the mornings ![]()
Now I've had a lot of downtime while waiting days between work, I have plenty of time to watch... So I thought I'd go back to the start and watch it from the beginning (whilst playing Pokémon Yellow on my iPhone)
I'm currently up to Episode 25 of the Indigo league.
You can relive the glory days of Pokémon at http://www.pokemonepisode.org and currently there are 811 episodes hosted on the site (English versions except for the banned ones such as Episode 18 which are in Japenese as the English version was banned / highly altered).

George Takei said it best...
I take no solace or joy in this man's passing. We will not dance upon his grave, nor stand vigil at his funeral holding "God Hates Freds" signs, tempting as it may be.He was a tormented soul, who tormented so many. Hate never wins out in the end. It instead goes always to its lonely, dusty end.
Irrespective of the actions of both himself and his church, giving them "a taste of their own medicine" makes us no better then they were.
Apparantly the church itself doesn't actually hold memorials or do funerals like other churches normally do, his body will probably be laid to rest on the sly.
The family has, however, asked that people respect Fred Phelps passing

If you're like me and you have a tonne of electronic gadges plugged into the same socket (ie my TV, Surround Sound, XB1, Desktop Computer and Laptop Power in 1 house and TV, Surround Sound, Powered Sub, PS3, Desktop, x2 Laptops, External Powered TB HDD) then when it comes time to disconnecting some of these items for whatever reason, you have to trace back what exactly the fuck it is before you pull the plug.
I found this lifehack somewhere else, so I can't take credit for it, but grab a breadclip (pictured) and using a sharpie, write the device on one or both sides of the clip. Attached it to the power cable right before the plug and then plug it into your power board. When you need to remove a single device, you can simply read which one you need to pull instead of tracing it back or playing Russian Roullette.

@Strategist - Nah he's a civil engineer / town planner from memory (I tried to quote your post, but the quote thing doesn't work in IE on Win8)
As for the terrorist theory, unlikely - There has been no Terrorist group claiming responsibility for the hijacking or taking down of the plane. That's not something that terrorists do, it's not terrorism if you aren't making a statement and instilling 'fear' or visible violence.
